01Structure before pixels
First a map of what the site has to say and in which order, then wireframes, then design. Most sites need five pages, not thirty, and the home page has one job.
Design and build as one job
No hand-off between the person who draws the page and the person who builds it. What you approve in the design is what goes live, at the same spacing and the same weight of type.
Fast and findable
Images sized for the page, fonts loaded once, no tracking scripts you did not ask for. Titles, descriptions, structured data and a sitemap are part of the build, not an add-on.
Yours to keep up
Texts, pictures and prices you change yourself, in an editor you can learn in an afternoon. Bilingual sites get proper hreflang, not a translation plugin.

03Do you design and build, or only design?
Both. If you already have a developer, I deliver the design and work with them instead.
Which platform?
The one that fits the job: a fast custom build for most sites, a shop platform for a shop, a simpler editor when you want to change a lot yourself. I recommend one after the first call and say why.
Can it be in two or three languages?
Yes. The engineering firm's site runs in German and English, this one in three languages. Each language is written properly by a native speaker, and search engines are told which page is which.
Do you also write the texts?
I edit and structure them and write short pieces where needed. For long copy in a language other than mine, I work with a writer, and I say so up front.
How long does it take?
That depends on your deadline, and I plan around it. The first concepts come within a week; you can pick one, combine two, ask for changes or for new directions. Most projects are done in three to five weeks.
What does it cost?
After the first call you get a fixed quote for the scope we agree on. No price list, and no surprises on the invoice.
