A ribbon that bends like a road, for the scooter network that grew out of Berlin.

2018 · Berlin

TIER Mobility started in Berlin in 2018 with shared e-scooters and later added e-bikes and e-mopeds. I designed the brand identity at the start: the TIER logo, the colours and the graphic system. By January 2024 TIER was running in more than 400 cities in 21 countries.

The TIER wordmark in mint on navy.

Most people see the brand on the street for a second or two, while a scooter goes past. That is why the system has few parts: a wide wordmark that still reads on the side of a moving scooter, one mint, one navy, and a ribbon that bends like a road. The ribbon then goes everywhere else: posters, helmets, service vans, and painted on the street itself.

Next to the original identity are new applications for the e-scooter, the e-bike and the e-moped, rider gear and a dark version of the app, to test how far the same few elements go. The figures are from January 2024, before TIER merged with Dott.
