Sphere is a reality switcher: an app concept that turns the familiar desktop into a place you can step into.
The idea came with the first headsets: if you can stand inside a picture, the desktop should not stay a flat wallpaper with icons on it. Sphere takes that flat surface and turns it into a place.
You choose where the desktop lives, a city, a forest, a desert or space, then change it and add to it. Icons and windows stay where you leave them in that room. Every addition to the app is another reality to switch into, which is where the name comes from.
